IBEW System Council No. 11 has a long and proud history. Our union is dedicated to protecting union members. The resources of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, two full-time General Chairmen, one hundred local union officers and an engaged membership provide the protection.
Our union represents over 1,400 railroad signals and communications employees of Canadian National Railway, Canadian Pacific Railway, Toronto Terminals Railway and the Ontario Northland Railway. Our members build, install, improve, monitor, maintain and repair railroad signals and communications systems.

IBEW System Council No. 11 union members take care of important parts of the nation’s railroad safety systems. Our members are responsible for the operations of level crossing signals and the systems guiding speeding West Coast Express, GO and RTM commuter trains. Union is the busiest passenger rail station in Canada. Tens of thousands of people travel to and through Toronto’s Union Station every day.
All GO Train, Via Rail and Amtrak train movements are directed by IBEW System Council No. 11 union members. For our members passenger safety is the first priority.
